Core Definition
The Rot is the nest of malevolent beings that lives beneath the ordinary city—the current canon name for the worst things in Aragost. It is not one creature and not one place. It is an ecosystem of hungers that treats people as fuel.
How It Works
The Rot collects rent: not always money, rarely once, never in full. It presses hardest at the thin places, and it regards Tallow the way a fire regards kindling. Dee hunts what it leaves behind.
